As wine lovers venture out to discover the tastes and styles of Red Barn wine, we're curious too, what’s the buzz?

It’s a unique tasting room, with interesting wines, and a space for creativity that offers wine nerds and lovers alike a first-hand look at the source of grapes and wine. Jagged Rock refers to the monolith that towers above the vineyard at 1000 feet. In what is already a hotspot, this monolith radiates heat and keeps the vines ripening long after the sun has set. Italian grape varieties which naturally retain acidity in this type of climate are making this vineyard viable and the wines unique for BC.

In case you missed it, last month, Hester Creek Estate Winery was named Great Northwest Wine magazine’s first-ever BC Winery of the Year 🎉

The history of this Golden Mile Bench winery—home to some of the oldest vines in the Pacific Northwest—goes all the way back to 1968. Long before British Columbia even had a wine industry, an Italian immigrant named Joe Busnardo famously planted some of the region’s very first vitis vinifera on the property. Today, the fruit it bears includes barrels of gold and platinum medals from all corners of the world.
