Meet Justin Isidro, also known as @offthelist_somm, or the man behind VINÍCOLA PORTUGAL 🍷

This year, VINÍCOLA PORTUGAL gathered over 70 different wines from high-quality producers from the north to the south of Portugal under the roof of Heritage Hall on Main Street on September 16. From the robust reds of Douro Valley to the crisp whites of Vinho Verde, the wines were accompanied by a snack bar from Arc Iberico Imports and you could pick up a bottle you really liked from the on-site wine shop by @suttonplacewinemerchant.

Not that this grape needs a special day to be celebrated, but in B.C.’s Okanagan Valley Cabernet Sauvignon is the third most planted red grape variety with 970 acres. Some wines, like the Similkameen Valley’s Orofino Red Bridge and Clos du Soleil Signature, stand out by harmonizing the distinct characteristics of Cabernet Sauvignon with other red Bordeaux varieties. Others, like the Golden Mile’s Culmina Estate Family Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon and Hester Creek Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, both 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, showcase the pure essence of the grape.
