Self-isolating? Social distancing? Still have the internet? Well then, you’re in luck—you can get B.C. wine delivered right to your door!

The COVID-19 pandemic is rapidly unfolding with decisions about precautionary measures to help flatten the curve being announced daily. These are unprecedented and trying times, especially for the small business community; and B.C. wineries are no exception. Spring is a busy time in viticulture and with preview events being forced to cancel or postpone, bars, restaurants and even tasting rooms shutting down indefinitely, local wineries are finding creative ways to make sure that they are able to keep you well supplied!

From curbside handoffs to the added incentive of free toilet paper (for real!), we’ve complied an ever evolving list of B.C. wineries that are adjusting to the current climate and ensuring that you can enjoy a glass of VQA from the comfort of your own home. Alone, of course, because, you know…

*While we are doing our best to keep this list up to date, the situation is evolving rapidly, and wineries are continually adapting. What is allowed and works today may not be suitable tomorrow.

Dear Valued Customers, While the global health crisis commonly known as coronavirus is changing by the hour, the health and well-being of our customers and staff remain our top priority. For your safety and ours, we are taking extra precautionary measures in our tasting room that go above and beyond the high level of cleanliness we already maintain. Some of these extra steps include increasing the frequency at which all high-touch surfaces are wiped and using single-use stemware for all wine tastings. If you have any cold or flu-like symptoms, we kindly ask that you refrain from visiting us at this time. In an effort to do our part to #flattenthecurve and encourage individuals to practice #socialdistancing we are offering free shipping on all online wine purchases of $50 or more. Thank you for your support and continued patronage. Sincerely, Carlos

As the COVID-19 situation evolves we are keeping with the recommendations of Health Canada and the Provincial Authority. As our staff and customers’ safety is of utmost importance, we are taking steps to limit the exposure and increase the space between people in our wine shop, tasting room and the Bacchus Bistro. Starting March 17, 2020, there will be no public or private tours of the winery or vineyard. Any tours that have been booked are now cancelled. All groups in the wine shop will be limited to 4 people. The wine shop staff will also be limiting the number of people that are inside the wine shop at any given time. We will also be limiting the number of people using our outdoor picnic area to ensure that we are staying below the Provincial mandate that gatherings not exceed 50 people. The Bacchus Bistro will be limiting the number of patrons at any given time and arranging tables to ensure that there is a safe distance between them. These steps are in addition to our rigorous cleaning schedule. We ask that anyone displaying symptoms, who have been near anyone who is sick or has been out of the country to please refrain from being in public places and self-isolate as requested by the Provincial Health Authority. We are all in this together ❤️ For more information on the recommendations of the Provincial Health Authority please visit http://ow.ly/tTzr50yOjPg

Our # 1 priority is the health and safety of our guests, staff members and the community. We are following direction from Health Canada and monitoring COVID-19 situation closely. We’d like to take a moment to communicate the standards we have in place to ensure the health and wellness of our guests, employees and the community as a whole. In addition to our current stringent food handling safety practices and cleanliness standards, we have implemented the following additional sanitizing precautionary measures: · We have increased the frequency of disinfecting in all locations and shared spaces. High traffic areas such as tasting bars, checkouts, menus and pin pads will be sanitized after each use. · We have postponed Elevated Tastings and large-scale gatherings scheduled until the end of April. · We will be increasing the level of social distancing in our tasting room and patio by increasing space between tables and guests. · We are increasing the number of hand sanitizers throughout the location. · We are reducing any unnecessary hand contact with guests. · Posters are located throughout the winery to remind all guests of proper handwashing techniques. · We have provided staff training specifically related to COVID-19 on handwashing best practices, sanitary standards, and safe work practices, requiring staff with any symptoms of any illness to remain at home. While we respect that some guests will decide to stay home, we know that other guests will continue with their plans to visit. For our valued customers who wish to stay home and isolate we are extending our free shipping on all 12 bottle orders and $10 shipping on all 6 bottle orders until April 1st. We are monitoring the situation and committed to maintaining the highest possible standards for the safety of our guests and employees. I wrote this morning about how great I felt yesterday seeing gift messages on orders – people sending wine to their friends and family members during this time of isolation and anxiety. I flipping loved it. I want to see more. I want to see people cheers-ing virtually over FaceTime ❤️I know our current free shipping promotion (6 bottles free for members and 12 bottles free for everyone with code FreeShip20) is a steep for most for gifts. So guess what, another promo code! Use Sharing50 for 50% off shipping across Canada. No bottle minimum. No $ minimum. That means $10 for BC, $15 for Alberta and $20 for other provinces. Keep in mind, when we sell our wines into Ontario and they end up on retail shelves, the price is higher than this even with the shipping 😂 (nothing we can do about liquor boards…🤷🏻‍♀️) Photo by @dahul for @okanaganlifestyle

Quails’ Gate Dine at Home! Today we have temporarily closed our in-house dining experience at Old Vines Restaurant. These changes are immediate and will continue until March 31, 2020 when we will reassess our environment. Our Quails’ Gate team is delighted to serve customers and have been working to find innovative ways to responsibly deliver well-crafted wines and culinary experiences into your modified daily lives. Chef Roger Sleiman and his team have developed a menu of Boxed Family Meals – complete with suggested wine pairings – that are available for pickup from the Restaurant starting today. 3-course family-style meals for 2 people ($49) or 4 people ($89) will be prepared to order and include a choice of appetizer, main course and dessert, plus optional add-ons. The take-out menu follows Old Vines’ focus on local, sustainable ingredients and is designed to offer great value and a restaurant-quality experience in the comfort of your home. View the Menu and place your order at the link in our bio. When you place your order, choose the date and time (between 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM) for your pickup. At the time of pickup, please proceed to the entrance of Old Vines Restaurant to provide payment and collect your meal. We appreciate your ongoing support as we proceed through this unprecedented time.

During these difficult times, Wild Goose is working to ensure the safety and health of our employees, suppliers and valuable customers. To do this we are implementing the following: Our wineshop will reopen on April 1st to our regular hours, 10 AM to 5 PM daily, including weekends. At this time we will be open only for sales. Regular wine tasting is tentatively being planned to resume for the Easter long weekend. Currently, enhanced cleaning procedures have been put into place, as set out by local and provincial health officials, to spray down all touch points within the building after use, increased hand sanitizers throughout the tasting room and reduced hand contact between people. Because of the winemaking process, our facility already maintains a high level of cleanliness, sanitation and strict hygiene standards. Once we open for tastings, in addition to the above, we will provide all guests with individual spittoons, wine glasses will continue to be washed and sterilized to Interior Health guidelines and we will ensure physical distancing throughout the tasting room. If you would like to order wine and are uncomfortable with coming into the winery just call up ahead of time and we will bring the wines out to you in the parking lot! If you don’t live locally and would like to order our wines we are providing free delivery on a case (12) or more, until the tasting room opens. To place an order either call, email or go online and place an order. Some couriers are not requiring signatures right now but rather anyone accepting wines from a courier will need to be visually verified for age. Thank you so much for your support, it means a lot to us. We will keep you informed of any changes via social media and email. Stay healthy everyone! #stayhealthy #winelover #theheartofwinecountry #staysafe #winetime #drivebywine
